Have you purchased any patterns from this designer? If so, how many?

Our team’s experiences with ChrisW Designs vary. Some of our sewists are new to Chris’s patterns, while others have built up quite the collection. One sewist noted they hadn’t purchased any yet, but were lucky enough to win a pattern, while another team member has tested several designs and made five or more bags using Chris’s patterns.

What is your favorite pattern by this designer?

There’s a lot of excitement about trying new designs! One team member named the Wanderflap as their favorite, while another is eager to dive into their first pattern. A few have yet to decide on a favorite but have enjoyed elements of designs like the Serendipity Hip, especially its recessed zipper treatment. For some, there’s still plenty to explore in the ChrisW collection!

What are the things you like about this designer’s patterns?

The feedback from our team highlights what makes ChrisW Designs stand out. Several sewists appreciated the detailed instructions and step-by-step photos, which make each pattern easy to follow. The availability of additional support through online resources and the designer’s group was also a hit, helping everyone from beginners to experienced bag makers feel confident in tackling a new project.

As one sewist pointed out, “Each bag is unique, and Chris’s attention to detail really shines through.”

How many bags by this designer have you made?

When it comes to the number of bags made, our team’s experiences are as varied as their favorite patterns. Some are just getting started, having made one or none so far, while others have created six or more ChrisW bags—quite the accomplishment!

There’s plenty of love for Chris Welsh herself! One of our sewists described her as "one of the most amusing characters in the bag-making world," noting how fun and engaging her instructional videos are, especially with the quirky expressions and humor she brings to the table.

Others appreciated the range of fabric bases her patterns accommodate, and the fact that her website offers something for everyone, whether you're a beginner or a seasoned sewist.
